There’s a garden covered in flowers right below the house, but there’s also a stream that cuts through the property. While dipping my toes in it, I saw a couple of deer doing the same thing not 15 feet away from me. I loved watching the fog roll in from our private patio and my mother enjoyed reading in the sunshine for a couple hours while I went exploring the property.

See what guests loved the most:

Located at Olema House in Point Reyes, Due West Market is a modern iteration of the classic roadside market that serves as a one-stop-shop for West Marin locals and adventurers alike.Exploring Point Reyes? The market is stocked with everything you need to hit the road including classic and gourmet goodies and beverages as well as a selection of locally sourced and inspired gifts, t-shirts and hats to take a piece of Point Reyes home with you. Due West features both indoor and outdoor dining spaces, as well as venues for special events. Overlooking a year-round creek and the gardens at Olema House, Due West provides a picturesque setting for private parties, weddings and receptions, rehearsal dinners, corporate banquets, birthday celebrations, or family picnics. Just inside, The Park room offers ample natural light and similarly scenic vistas, along with a cozy fireplace.

She’s also never had oysters before so I took her to Marshall to dine on oysters (fresh and cooked!) along with other top sights in the area like the Cypress Tree Tunnel and the lighthouse. This back area is equipped with a couple of glamping tents that serve as a chic outdoor lounge area and game place if you have kiddos. But i enjoyed just sitting by the water and soaking in the cool breeze. Every booking you make at a Plus Program hotel will be packed with privileges that pay for themselves in as little as one stay.

Despite this, they could not definitely prove that Creative Controls had infringed on any of their products. The court determined that there was no case for copyright-related issues. An exploration of Kindig’s Instagram page shows that they have been busying themselves with some fascinating renovations. Dave and his team recently worked on a red 65 mustang, and a stunning 63 Corvette. Dave started the custom build by translating the ideas of the client to visual drawings his craftspeople could actually build.

If you’ve ever felt anxious spending time in a messy room, you know that the design of our space and our environment affects us both physically and emotionally. Part of the reason he’s able to focus so much time on the creative side of the business is his wife Charity looks after the books. I just stay on the creative side, which allows me to be a lot more open-minded and free-floating,” he says.

Instead, Creative Controls catered to anyone with access to their website. They shouldn’t be penalised just because their site attracted business from Utah. Aside from the issue of copyright infringement, Kindig-it also alleged that Creative Controls had used images related to their company without permission.

Looking for a change, and itching to get in the industry, he applied in January of 2023. But, more proud of his accomplishment of being a father to his daughter Marley. Originally from Madison Wisconsin, Chris moved to Salt Lake City for a change of scenery. A friend mentioned we were hiring, and well, the stars aligned!

As the Head Tour Guide, he is able to interact with people from all over the world and enjoys getting to know everyone who comes to the shop. His interests are focused on classic cars, attending car shows, and constantly growing and changing his personal collection of cars. They have two daughters; Sidney married to Derrick, and Madison, married to Jordan. Brian joined the Kindig-it Design team in July 2014 and specializes in body work. Brian spent 16 years before Kindig-it Design working as a collision repair technician with various companies. He has been married for 18 years and has two sons that are 12 and 9 years old.

Charity’s first car was her beloved ’67 Chevelle Malibu that her and her father built together. With the coolest car in the parking lot, Charity and her friends enjoyed cruising State Street in the Chevelle and frequenting dance clubs. It was at one of these clubs that she met the love of her life, Dave Kindig. As a young car enthusiast, Charity delved into the automotive hobby on the work front as well, claiming a parts-runner job at a local automotive shop. Once there, she worked her way up the ranks, eventually becoming a manager and overseeing the warehouse. After the aftermarket shop, her next automotive job was as co-owner of Kindig-It Design.

Tremendous consideration is given to the physical and mental needs of the end users of the space. We believe it’s not just about creating an “adorable” kids space, but one that meets the needs of the child in all aspects of their life. Kindig-It Design is a familiar name within the custom car world, largely due to the fact that it’s also the subject of the TV show Bitchin’ Rides. However, Kindig-It also churns out some of the coolest custom vehicles on the planet, a list that includes more than a few Corvettes, coupled with a wide array of one-off examples of just about anything one can imagine. One of Kindig-It’s most recent builds – this stunning 1953 Corvette put together for Dave and Tracy Maxwell – just won one of the most prestigious awards in the business, too. Dave Kindig, owner and operator of Kindig-it Design in Salt Lake City, Utah turns out one-of-a-kind vehicles for his demanding clientele.

Chris has been with Kindig-it Design since April of 2021 and has loved it ever since.

In April of 2019, Kyler started at Kindig-it Design making our Door Handles. When not slinging out our signature door handles; Kyler enjoys building and customizing motorcycles. Kyler loves his job, the team, and is excited about his future here at Kindig-it Design. Eric grew up in St. George, UT then moved to SLC in 2006 for a change of pace and to explore new opportunities.

Kindig-It notes that this 1953 Corvette was built with no budget and no cap on how long it would take, which is essentially what it takes these days to secure a Ridler Award. Regardless, it’s an achievement that few will ever reach, and now, both the company that built this amazing machine and the folks that own it have the ultimate bragging rights. Austyn graduated from the University of Idaho in 2019 with his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.

Make a star cookie or other extra shapes to affix to the top of your house in lieu of a chimney. Mix together an egg, superfine sugar, and corn syrup along with flour and baking powder. Add in a leaf green gel color, then microwave it in a shallow dish for 90 to 120 seconds. Keep the dish upside down on a wire rack and, once cooled, put it between two pieces of parchment paper and press down. We are committed to serving the community with good food and great service.

Behind the fireplace is a living room dominated by a lounge chair, coffee table and flowery print couch made of gingerbread that you can look at but can’t sit on. For curved pieces of gingerbread, he takes them fresh out of the oven while still warm and places them onto the curved pieces of foam core so they dry curved! Have extra gingerbread dough you want to make use of (or don’t want to eat)?

This waffle gingerbread house is from a Target ad and isn't even gingerbread but seriously! “It’s so much easier than doing the whole ‘make your own melted sugar,’” Boake adds. Piping white sugar icing is a simple and inexpensive way to decorate.

“Part of it was, I love architecturally beautiful houses,” Figueroa explains. “Being able to create little minis makes it a lot more accessible.” Which is why, when the opportunity to recreate an Eames house while working as an assistant archivist for Herman Miller presented itself, it was a natural choice to say yes. Midcentury-modern architecture at its sweetest, a gingerbread house by Mary Figueroa.

Did you know that you don’t have to stick with regular gingerbread dough when making a gingerbread house? Other doughs can provide a different color or tone to your house, like this cardamom cookie dough that food stylist and recipe developer Judy Kim made for Epicurious in 2020. “The cookie provides a bright background for the decor, which skips the classic candy overload, and focuses instead on cool-toned shimmer and shine,” Kim told Epicurious.

Where to See Life-Size Gingerbread Houses in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES — A gingerbread house in California has received several offers after being listed on Zillow for a mere $1.9 million. This off-the-wall idea to create a real gingerbread house started last summer when the forces behind Mytheresa and Flamingo Estate collaborated to open a temporary Summer Body Shop inside an auto body shop in East Hampton, N.Y. Call this December-delightful outing a lovely complement to any storybook house tours you've taken around town (yes, storybook or witch houses are something rather different than the gingerbread house, though the fanciful forms have plenty in common, spirit-wise). But you'd need a truckload of candy to deck these adorable abodes, for several of LA's gingerbread houses stand at two stories or more. Outside of L.A., there’s also a life-size gingerbread houses in Madison Square Park in Manhattan, while Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco boasts the largest in the state with their two-story house, complete with a dining room that seats up to 12 guests. The record for the largest gingerbread house, however, was set in 2013 in Bryan, Texas, where it seems like I’ve heard everything is bigger.

The children search for home and come upon a house built cakes, candy and gingerbread. The proprietor turns out to be an evil witch who lures them inside with the intention of eating them. Ultimately the children trick the witch, trap her in the oven she’d warmed for them, make off with her fortune, and return to their loving father.

The mother, who died a mysterious death in the children’s absence, is now out of the picture for good. At the Mytheresa x Flamingo Estate holiday house entryway, there is a gingerbread fireplace whose bricks are held together with frosting. A bit of sanding might even be necessary to get your edges as precise as possible, Nesje suggests, especially when it comes to this recreation of the Norwegian Parliament building. Even if you’re a gingerbread house-making novice and feel more comfortable with a precut kit, this midcentury-modern house from World Market is simple to put together. Build off the modern structure and have fun with abstract stones made with multicolored candies. An Epicurious gingerbread house by Judy Kim that the Brady Bunch would love. Before Mary Figueroa started working as a curator of history at the Indiana State Museum, she made gingerbread houses competitively throughout high school.

Though the base of this Crumble Castle stays pretty simple—with mostly white icing detailing—it has colored meringues on the top of its towers to make for a colorful and playful recreation of tower spires. “Go big or go home” might as well be the motto of Asbjørg Nesje, whose family gingerbread house-making tradition is grand, to say the least. The construction is similar to building an actual house from scratch. Having access to floor and building plans to get your measurements just right is of the greatest importance, along with ensuring that everything is reinforced.

Whether you’re looking for something to base your next gingerbread house on or just need some inspo for this year’s construction, peruse these 20 gingerbread house ideas as you build out your own sugar fantasy this holiday season. As with any DIY project, creating a gingerbread house takes some serious planning. You’ll likely need to do some sketches and crunch some numbers before the baking stage begins. This craft is not one to do hastily, cookie masonry will definitely take up a few hours, but the eye-catching results will pay off in the end, even if you have a mini mental breakdown halfway through the construction. In 1812 Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published one of their most famous stories. Hansel and Gretel are left to stave in the woods by their cruel mother as their woodcutter father is unable to provide for the family.

Order a familiar favorite or try something new for pickup or delivery powered by Beyond Menu.

Look to lace for gingerbread house ideas that will stand out from the rest. Gingerbread houses are about combining imaginary with reality by recreating real life items in whimsical ways using something sweet. Sometimes giving a gingerbread house a paint job doesn’t mean pulling out the icing or making a whole new kind of cookie dough. Rather, all it takes is some candies or, for Boake and her pink Victorian house, pink strawberry Pocky snacks that she found at an Asian mall to create rosy wood slating. Each year, the Museum of Architecture in London hosts a Gingerbread City featuring a menagerie of architectural confections full of inspiration for your next gingerbread house.

Gingerbread House Displays in California

This waffle gingerbread house is from a Target ad and isn't even gingerbread but seriously! “It’s so much easier than doing the whole ‘make your own melted sugar,’” Boake adds. Piping white sugar icing is a simple and inexpensive way to decorate.

Gingerbread houses are about combining imaginary with reality by recreating real life items in whimsical ways using something sweet. Sometimes giving a gingerbread house a paint job doesn’t mean pulling out the icing or making a whole new kind of cookie dough.

House of the Dragon TV Series 2022 Episode list

house of dragon

The first season received highly positive reviews, with praise towards its character development, visual effects, writing, score by Ramin Djawadi, and performances. However, the pacing, specifically of the time jumps, and the dark lighting of some scenes were criticized. The series premiere was watched by over 10 million viewers across the linear channels and HBO Max on the first day, the biggest in HBO's history. At the 80th Golden Globe Awards, House of the Dragon won Best Television Series – Drama and D'Arcy was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama. The series earned nine Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, and won three British Academy Television Craft Awards. House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO.

Featuring an ensemble cast, the show portrays the events leading up to the beginning of the decline of House Targaryen, a devastating war of succession known as the "Dance of the Dragons". Thus far, the series has been working loosely off author George R.R. Martin’s doorstopper textbook Fire & Blood, a history book of sorts for Westeros and the Targaryens. The book includes all major events of Season 1 and the subsequent history, the events following the death of King Viserys I, including the ensuing civil war.

A few days after you completing The Gift of Giving, you'll be approached by an older woman named Diana near the slums. She'll ask you to visit her in the Noble Quarter, and a house will become marked. Head to the house and you'll meet Diana and a young boy named Sebastian. They'd like you to bring Daphne to the house, due to her resemblance to Sebastian. Targaryens have traditionally been shown as white with blonde hair -- so, the inclusion of Black actors in these particular roles has received some racist vitriol online.

Season Info

The “Dance of the Dragons” is the civil war that ensued between the Targaryens. Thrones fans may recall when young Shireen Baratheon and Ser Davos briefly discuss the battle as she reads a history book about it. If you want to see how that part of Targaryen history unfolds, you’ll have to keep an eye on House of the Dragon. Game of Thrones is based on Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but House of the Dragon is based on his “history” book, Fire & Blood.

These include Martin, who wrote the books that form the basis of both shows — the “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels for the original series and the prequel book “Fire & Blood” for the new one. Over the course of the series viewers could see up to 17 different dragons. As they are introduced, be sure to visit the Official Dragon Index for a quick look at which dragon is which. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.

The series premiered on August 21, 2022, with the first season consisting of ten episodes. Five days after its premiere, the series was renewed for a second season. Sapochnik departed as showrunner after the first season, leaving Condal to serve as the sole showrunner for the second season. The second season is set to premiere on June 16, 2024, consisting of 8 episodes.

A prequel to Game of Thrones (2011–2019), it is the second television series in the A Song of Ice and Fire franchise. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik served as the showrunners for the first season. Based on parts of Martin's 2018 book Fire & Blood, the series begins about 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen conquest, nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.

The first thing “House of the Dragon” visual effects supervisor Angus Bickerton discussed with showrunners Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal was — surprise — the dragons. The show’s predecessor, “Game of Thrones,” set new standards for the photoreal monsters; it won seven visual-effects Emmys, after all. Before George R.R. Martin’s Westeros endured the Game of Thrones, Aegon the Conquerer set up his House of Targaryen to rule the Seven Kingdoms. Now, HBO is gearing up to show us the mayhem that happened when this house splintered into two sides that each claimed the Iron Throne.

Hopefully, we will at least see the inevitable showdown between Daemon and (Mini-Me) Aemond, and if that plot point follows the Fire and Blood book, both men should be very afraid. As a self-proclaimed geek with a deep love for this kind of genre title, he likens it to walking into Disneyland. See the updated list of House of the Dragon cast and characters below. Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik serve as showrunners and executive producers.

Ser Simon Strong (Simon Russell Beale) will step up as Castellan of Harrenhal, Ser Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox) will surface as Otto Hightower’s son, and Alyn of Hull (Abubakar Salim) will follow up on his work in the Stepstones campaign. Millie Alcock and the rest of the first-generation Targaryens and Hightowers will, as far as HBO has indicated, not be returning this season in flashbacks. That doesn’t mean that we won’t see them again someday, but at least Paddy Considine does not have to jeopardize his own health for another stunning performance that the awards circuit decides to ignore. As their forebears battle for control of Westeros’s Iron Throne, what do you need to know about the new series, and its connection to what has gone before — or, more accurately, after?

With such deliberate pacing, House of the Dragon is poised for at least one more season and in all likelihood many more. Following the events of House of the Dragon Season 1 and the death of King Viserys I Targaryen, the world of Westeros is heading for a full-on civil war for the Iron Throne, known by most as the "Dance of the Dragons." With that said, this series has been plotted out for four seasons, and that plan could change, but it’s unlikely that we will see the entire war take place in Season 2.

According to Variety, the Season 2 production will go unaffected by Hollywood's ongoing writers' strike as all scripts were completed before production. Executive producer Ryan Condal supposedly remained on set in a strictly non-writing production with no editing, no network notes, and no writing. Though all this required new technologies and incredible levels of computing power, the freedom of the virtual camera in the hands of the cinematographer and director, and the length of the shots now possible, allowed a more instinctive, even human, approach. It took multiple effects houses and multiple processes to weave together the season’s payoff sequence. From that period, House of the Dragon brings us back nearly 200 years to the time in Westerosi history when House Targaryen was at the height of its power. The series begins with the reign of King Viserys I, the fifth Targaryen ruler, the question of his succession, and the events that unfold after he names his daughter, Rhaenyra, heir — a title a woman had never assumed. Yes, the series is a prequel with Ryan J. Condal (Rampage and Hercules) and Miguel Sapohnik (whom you may remember from Game of Thrones favorite episodes “Battle of the Bastards,”“Hardhome,” and more) at the helm. Author George R.R. Martin is also actively involved as an executive producer. Set centuries before the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon tells the story of House Targaryen, the legendary family who ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The series follows the Targaryen's journey from their beginnings as the last family of dragonlords to their eventual downfall, leading up to the events of George R.R. Martin's book "Fire & Blood".
